How to Make Chocolate Mousse
Ingredients

200 g dark chocolate (70% cocoa recommended)

3 large eggs, separated

3 tablespoons sugar

1 cup (240 ml) heavy cream

1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

A pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Melt the chocolate

Break the chocolate into small pieces.

Melt it gently over a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave.

Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.
2. Whip the egg whites

In a clean bowl, add a pinch of salt to the egg whites.

Whip until soft peaks form.

Gradually add sugar while whipping until stiff peaks form.
3. Whip the cream

In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.

Add vanilla extract if using.
4. Combine ingredients

Stir the egg yolks into the melted chocolate until smooth.

Gently fold in half of the whipped cream.

Carefully fold in the whipped egg whites until fully incorporated, keeping the mixture light and airy.
5. Chill

Spoon the mousse into individual serving cups or bowls.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until set.
6. Serve

Optional toppings: whipped cream, chocolate shavings, berries, or a dusting of cocoa powder.
